At VeriVitae, we partner with incredible local providers to ensure that you’re getting the highest quality of care for the best price. Today, we want to highlight one of our local providers, Baby Face 4D Ultrasound.
Baby Face 4D Ultrasound is a medical diagnostic imaging center located in Indianapolis, Indiana. As their name suggests, they specialize in ultrasounds for expectant mothers, including both 3D and 4D ultrasounds.
We had the opportunity to talk with the owner of Baby Face 4D Ultrasound to find out more about what sets Baby Face 4D Ultrasound apart.
Baby Face 4D Ultrasound
Baby Face 4D Ultrasound specializes in 3D and 4D ultrasounds, but they also offer abdominal ultrasounds, vascular ultrasounds, and obstetric ultrasounds.
What’s the difference between the different types of ultrasounds?
3D Ultrasounds: Creates a 3-dimensional still picture of your baby
4D Ultrasounds: Creates a 3-dimensional picture in action or a "live stream" of the baby’s images
Abdominal Ultrasounds: An ultrasound used to diagnose problems with the following areas: blood vessels in the abdomen, gallbladder, intestines, kidneys, liver, pancreas, and spleen
Vascular Ultrasounds: looks at the body’s circulatory system and helps identify blockages in the arteries and veins to detect blood clots
Obstetric Ultrasounds: the original baby ultrasound we are all used to seeing, the obstetric ultrasounds are less detailed than the 3D or 4D ultrasound
Another unique offering of Baby Face 4D Ultrasound is Heart Beat Animals, a stuffed animal keepsake for expectant moms. What a perfect gift for excited siblings to have...a teddy bear with the heartbeat of their new baby brother or baby sister!
Why did you start an Ultrasound business?
I’ve been doing ultrasounds for 16 years. I really enjoyed doing ultrasounds at the hospital I worked at for several years and wanted to offer another option for the Indianapolis area.
What can clients expect when they come to Baby Face 4D Ultrasound?
One thing that I do differently from hospitals is making it more about the mother and making the appointment more of a fun experience for her and whomever she brings with her. Following Covid procedures, moms can bring 2 additional guests with them to their appointments. We scan until we get good pictures or videos, which usually takes 30 minutes or less.
How far along in pregnancy should a woman get an ultrasound?
I offer ultrasounds for all 3 trimesters. I always tell moms that they can’t go back in time to see their baby younger so I encourage getting an ultrasound each trimester. If they’d like to view a really great picture of their baby’s face, I suggest coming around 33 weeks.
What is the best part of your job?
I always say that I get to witness a miracle every time I do a 3D or 4D ultrasound. It truly never gets old. I get to be with some families each trimester of their pregnancy, which I refer to as "Life’s ultimate journey."
